Instructions for presentations

Oral Presentations

Oral presentation are scheduled to be no more than 7 minutes long, followed by 3 minutes of discussion time. Due to the tight conference schedule, chairpersons will be instructed to strictly maintain timings and will stop any delegate exceeding the allocated time slot. A timer will be at the presenters’ disposal during the session to ensure presenters to remain within the above timeframe.

Presenters are kindly requested to bring their presentation to the conference venue on a memory stick and load it to the central computer in the slide centre with the assistance of our technician.

Presenters on Wednesday need to upload their presentation at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the respective session.

Presenters on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are invited to load the presentations preferably before 18:00 on the day before the oral presentation.

In order to ensure the safe operation of the audiovisual equipment, it is not allowed to save presentations directly to the computer operating in the conference room. No other mode of presentation will be available.


Poster presentations

The maximum permissible size for posters is 90 cm width x 120 cm height in a portrait (standing) format. Please do not prepare the poster in a landscape (horizontal) layout as the edges of the poster will not fit on the board.

Poster are scheduled to be presented on Thursday, June 29 (pancreatic cancer, both basic and clinical sciences) and on Friday, June 30 (all other topics).

Thursday presenters may set up their posters from 13:00 on Wednesday, June 28 until 08:30 on Thursday, June 29 and leave them on the board until 18:30 on Thursday evening. Posters are to be put on the board bearing the abstract number and the name of the presenter. Technical assistance will be provided on spot. Posters shall be removed after 18:30 on Thursday, June 29. Any poster left on the board after 19:00 will be removed.

Friday presenters may set up their posters between 07:30-08:30 on Friday, June 30 and leave them on the board until 18:30 on Friday evening. Posters are to be put on the board bearing the abstract number and the name of the presenter. Technical assistance will be provided on spot. Posters shall be removed after 18:30 on Thursday, June 30. Any poster left on the board after 19:00 will be removed.

On each day, presenters are requested to be near their poster during the poster rounds between 13:30-14:30 to answer any questions that other delegates may have. Also during this period, posters will be reviewed and discussed by an evaluation team who will nominate the best poster. The best poster prizes in basic and clinical sciences will be awarded in the closing ceremony of the congress.
